A busy civil engineering contractor is looking to recruit a new Estimator to join their team in Dalgety Bay. With over 25 years of experience in the Scottish market, they work for a diverse range of clients on both public and private sector projects.

They require an experienced Estimator with a depth of knowledge in civil engineering, including civil groundworks packages, who can help the team adequately handle the required volume of enquiries whilst contributing to the company's business development strategy in the coming months and years.

The right applicant will understand the dynamics of working within a privately owned SME business, possess current knowledge of local price points and the ability price across multiple trades from First Principles. Specific responsibilities will include;

  • Reviewing Tender Enquiries and working with the senior management team to formulate outline bid strategies.
  • Preparation of cost estimates and high-quality tender documentation for submission
  • Maintain and develop effective working partnerships with supply chain
  • Attend tender handover meetings and delivery pre-start meetings with site teams
  • Liaise with Subcontractors, Architects and Clients and other stakeholders

To apply for the role you should;

  • Be educated to a minimum of HNC level in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
  • Have proven experience estimating for civil engineering work, ideally including groundwork
  • Capable of working independently, pricing civil works from First Principles
