Our client, a multi-disciplinary construction firm with head offices in Glasgow are currently looking to add an established Quantity Surveyor to their contracting division which primarily focusses on the fit-out and refurbishment of retail and supermarket related projects across a number of secured frameworks which are performing to a high demand at present. Due to the extra revenue most supermarket chains are experiencing at present due to pandemic this has led to an increase in project workload ranging from small scale remedial projects through to full scale re-fits and refurbishments of supermarket stores throughout Scotland and the UK; creating the requirement for an additional Quantity Surveyor within the team. This contractor are hands-down, one of the busiest construction firms in the UK at present and offer flexibility to work from home during the current pandemic period with robust and excellent IT systems in place.
The role itself will involve the day to day surveying, commercial monitoring and reporting on one of their key accounts which will entail numerous projects at varying stages at any given time; therefore we are looking for someone who can and wants to manage a high workload in what can be a fast-paced environment due to the quick timescales required on these types of works. A key success factor within this role will be your ability to juggle a high workload whilst engaging with key clients within the framework and ensuring commercial success across all works.
This role will suit an established Quantity Surveyor who can managing multiple projects and can demonstrate experience working on a variety of fit-out and refurbishment projects ideally within the retail sector. A lot of the works use the MTC form of contract so being able to demonstrate working knowledge on measured-term contracts and dealing with a schedule of rates would be helpful to any applicant who might consider this position.
