Project Engineer

Contract Scotland's client, who are a family owned building contractor operating across the Scottish market are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join their team on a temporary basis initially with the view that the role can become permanent in the early part of 2021.

Our client have been operating in the construction industry for over three decades and have gradually diversified their portfolio of work to include a variety of sectors including commercial, retail, leisure, healthcare, defence etc. Their projects vary greatly in scale as they will undertake specific packages of works on major building schemes as well as operating as the main contractor on all aspects of the building process for new build developments.

Their portfolio of work is currently expanding within the central belt of Scotland and the ideal candidate would be based centrally to cover projects across the central belt, as well as being flexible to staying away from home to support projects that are further afield - given the wide geographical coverage that our client has.

Given this is a growing business, the successful applicant would ideally have the capacity, ability and motivation to support in the training and development of more junior, upcoming members of staff into the business.

So - what does the ideal candidate look like?
• Experienced Site Engineer with experience working on a variety of building projects
• Strong references to support competency in setting out with a high degree of accuracy
• Capable of undertaking some management responsibility to support the planning and co-ordination of sites
• CSCS Card
• SMSTS & First Aid at Work (desired but not essential)
• Willing to work away from home
• Central Belt based
• Willing to work on a temporary basis initially with a view to taking a permanent role within the business in 2021
