Contract Scotland are working on behalf of a specialist civil engineering contractor operating within the rail sector in Scotland as they seek to recruit an experienced Sub-Agent.

Our client specialises in Civil Engineering, Construction and Railway Infrastucture, with projects including track refurbishment works through to larger earthworks and drainage packages. On the back of delivering previous projects successfully and given the essential nature of the works, our client has secured a very healthy pipeline of work for 2021 and beyond.

As Sub-Agent, your responsibilities will involve:

• Manage and optimise the construction programme and costs
• Continual liaison with the client and subcontractors
• Plan, programme and resource works carried out with the site team.
• Issuing permits to work and RAMS
• Management of quality assurance, technical queries, measurements and material reconciliations

To apply for the role you should:

• Have previous experience as a Sub Agent and due to the nature of the works being carried out, previous site engineering experience is essential.
• A strong civil engineering background with an understanding of earthworks and drainage packages within civils projects

Please note, due to project locations and the nature of the role, you should be flexible and willing to travel throughout Scotland when required. A company van and fuel card will be provided.

She was keen to move into recruitment and in just 12 months she became a Resourcer working within the Permanent team. Shortly after becoming a Resourcer Katie was promoted to Consultant. Now a Senior Consultant, Katie has worked in both our building and civils divisions over the last 6 years with the last 4 years spent specifically within freelance Civil Engineering. Fond of a site visit, Katie has travelled the length and breadth of Scotland visiting a variety of projects to meet our freelancers and clients alike. Katie is known for being quite competitive (only child syndrome) and loves a challenge! As of February 2021 upon returning from maternity leave, Katie will be overseeing the permanent Civils SME division.
